Boston Red Sox vs. Seattle Mariners – 07/24/2010

Filed under: Sports — admin @ 11:41 am

The Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners will both be gunning for a victory on Saturday when they meet at Safeco Field.

The Red Sox will give the ball to starter Jon Lester in this one. Lefthander Lester is 11-4 this season with a 2.81 ERA.

The Mariners will counter Lester with David Pauley. Righthander Pauley has a 3.27 ERA to go along with a 0-2 record this season.

Oddsmakers currently have the Red Sox listed as 210-moneyline favorites versus the Mariners, while the game’s total is sitting at 7½.

Bill Hall went deep for a solo shot and the Red Sox defeated the Mariners 2-1 on Friday, as -118 favorites. That game’s three runs went UNDER the posted over/under (7.5) set by sportsbooks.

Scott Atchison pitched just over one inning of relief for the win, and Jonathan Papelbon collected his 22nd save.

Jason Vargas allowed eight hits and two runs over seven innings in the Mariners loss.

One of my sports picks for today is for Boston to win.

After a win are 4-6

Seattle most recently:
